The MLS is the preferred destination for Alessandro Nesta over Serie A

Alessandro Nesta said he would prefer a position in MLS as his next managerial job.

After playing for Lazio, AC Milan, and the Azzurri - and spending a short time with CF Montreal in the MLS - Nesta began his coaching career in America with Miami FC.

He has since held unsuccessful posts with Perugia and Frosinone in his homeland and is presently unemployed.

In his last two jobs combined, Nesta won just 42 of 117 games he coached at a rate of 36%. Nesta fared much better at Miami FC, winning just under 50% (35) of his 71 games and helping his side win the league owned 2017 spring/fall champions in the old NASL which ran from 2011 to 2017.

Nesta expressed a preference to return to MLS over Serie A and described anyone willing to go through the rigors of management in Serie A as a "fool.".

“I want to balance work and family, so staying in the United States would be ideal. I spent three years away from my wife and children, so I am making up for it now,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia).

In the MLS, there is more competition, coaches come from all over the world. In Italy, there is too much pressure, every aspect must be managed, from the pitch to social media.

"I have grown accustomed to it, but whoever chooses this job is a fool."

Chicago Fire, FC Cincinnati, FC Dallas, Real Salt Lake, and Vancouver Whitecaps are among the five MLS clubs under interim management following the departure of their permanent head coaches.
