Minnesota United sign protective midfielder Kervin Arriaga

Minnesota United signed protecting midfielder Kervin Arriaga from Honduran club C.D. Marathón via the 2023 MLS season. 

He joins after the Loons acquired his discovery rights from Austin FC in trade for $50,000 in General Allocation Money in 2022 and $50,000 GAM in 2023.

“We’ve been following Kervin for perhaps over a 12 months and we’re without a doubt excited to get him right here,” Minnesota head coach Adrian Heath stated in a launch. 

“We think he’s were given a lot of upside. Another actually properly piece for us to add to our midfield organization and offers us that extra depth as nicely. Arriaga is every other piece that will be contending within a deep squad for first-group starting spots. We suppose there’s a lot more to come from him.”

The midfielder has spent his complete career in the Honduran league, with more than 100 professional appearances between Marathon and Club Atletico Platense. Internationally, Arriaga has made 8 appearances for Honduras throughout their World Cup qualifying marketing campaign.

Minnesota kick off their 2022 MLS campaign on February 26 while journeying the Philadelphia Union.
